Annual reports
The annual report of the Port of Rotterdam Authority consists of a review of all the developments in and around the port, plus a financial overview of the previous year.
'Working on a resilient port’ is the title of our annual report for 2025. It was a year in which the port of Rotterdam once again demonstrated its strategic value and resilience. Despite geopolitical uncertainty, increasing pressure on the industry and growing social expectations, the port remained an essential engine for the Netherlands, Europe and global logistics chains.
We made targeted investments in energy and logistics infrastructure and took important steps in addressing the major challenges that lie ahead. Our annual report describes how these developments took shape, with a strong focus on topics such as occupational safety, biodiversity and climate.
Targeted investments for the future
Thanks to stable financial results, we were able to continue building a port that is ready for tomorrow. The Porthos CCS project made significant progress, several onshore power installations were commissioned, and construction of a new railway yard commenced at Maasvlakte Zuid. With our corporate strategy, the Port Vision 2050 published in 2025, and the Climate Transition Plan we have set the course for a future-proof strategy. In the social sphere, we strengthened our connection with the city and region, for example through the Youth Education Fund and the brand-new Portlantis port experience centre.
The power of partnership
Major challenges such as the investment climate, resilience and the energy transition require intensive cooperation. In our annual report, we demonstrate what coordination with customers, governmental authorities, knowledge institutions, and local residents can achieve. The stakeholder interviews provide additional insight into the themes that are important to our environment. Additionally, we offer you insight into our motivations and initiatives to keep the port sustainable, competitive and safe through distinctive stories.
